Sometimes you want the standard Windows UI because it's optimized for keyboard use. Can paste a filename from the clipboard, can use typing to find files (either repeated letter or fragment of filename), can even right click on a file and open it in something else.

Now a Windows shell extension to show cover art or cartridge art for NES files...
